I was just reading the updated version of you family and the Roxburghs with more information that I could give you I have the names but not the other family info by now you proberly know who I am ? well I am Julieanne Giles from Ballarat. My GrandMother is MARGARET ANNIE GILES , Grandfather ROBERT CHARLES GILES.(Dec) Son of Robert James and Eliza Giles Nee Baulch. therfore I decend from the Giles, Retallick, Baulch, Roxburgh, Mc Ervale Families.
Smith Giles came to Australia with his Brothers & Cousin Sarah he was only 9 or 10 They came from Leeds in Yorkshire England. and the Family were farmers. His Fathers name was DAVID GILES & MARYANNE (NEE SMITH) Smith Giles married Elizabeth Retallick from Roche in Cornwall where they have a place called Retallick Moor. Lexton Cem is the place to go for information. and a walk around. alright for the men of the family but I have been out there a couple of times and it is a bit far out of town. when I was small and went out to Lexton my Grandmother took me out there all the time but I suppose that times are different now. There is a lot of info about the Baulch Family on the Net they moved around a lot and they came from Muchelney in Somerset went ot Tasmania and to Victoria. I am impressed with the inforamtion you have collected. and have been working very hard, I have been dancing Scottish country dancing for 10yrs and have tried to join Clan Cameron as I can Identify with the Scottish side of the Family. I am going to Geelong tonight. I hope this helps with placing me in the family. Thanks Julieanne.
